Christopher Webster [Celluloid 06.28.18] horror cult thriller fantasy avant-garde

Thank god for Elijah Wood and SpectreVision without who I don't think Panos Cosmatos' new psychotropic horror film, Mandy, would exist. The film, starring Nicolas Cage looks like a dark psych nightmare straight out of the 70s satan exploitation days and I cannot wait to check it out in HD glory.

RLJ is releasing the film in theaters on September 14.

Pacific Northwest. 1983 AD. Outsiders Red Miller and Mandy Bloom lead a loving and peaceful existence. When their pine-scented haven is savagely destroyed by a cult led by the sadistic Jeremiah Sand, Red is catapulted into a phantasmagoric journey filled with bloody vengeance and laced with fire.

Starring Nicolas Cage, Andrea Riseborough, Linus Roache, Ned Dennehy, Olwen Fouéré with Richard Brake and Bill Duke.

Gotta love the "Soon" at the end. Sounds like a warning!
