Marina Antunes [Cathode Ray Mission 12.12.16] thriller mystery

We first heard about Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij's latest collaboration "The OA" in early 2015 when it was announced that the duo behind Sound of My Voice (review) and The East (review) had sold their series to Netflix as 8, 1 hour-long episodes.

At the time of the announcement, it was unclear what "The OA" was about and honestly, now that there's a trailer for the show, few questions are answered though we do have a vague idea on the plot.

Marling stars as Prairie Johnson, a blind woman who returns home after mysteriously disappearing seven years before except that now she can see and from the looks of it, her road to seeing takes some mysterious turns.

Unsurprisingly considering Marling and Batmanglij's previous work, "The OA" shows overtones of a psychological thriller but there is also a vague suggestion that something supernatural could also be at play.

Thankfully we don't have long to wait before we get to see what "The OA" is all about. The entire season will premiere on Netflix on December 16.
