20th Century Fox set Alien Day for April 26 and then did pretty much nothing to celebrate it. Well, that's not totally true. They did stir up controversy by releasing Ripley's Reeboks in men's only sizes, but other than that they didn't really capitalize on their own promotional endeavor. Until, finally, releasing a single image from Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant production.

The image of a uniform badge from the Weyland-Yutani crew. Not super exciting, but we'll take it. It's also wroth noting that Paramount literally released the same thing for Star Trek Beyond . Come on guys!

Set as the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with the ambitious and unique Prometheus, Alien: Covenant is said to connect directly to Ridley Scott’s 1979 Alien. It begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. There, the crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Jack Paglen (Transcendence) and Michael Green (Green Lantern) wrote the screenplay.

It hits theatres August 4, 2017.

I have great Faith in Ridley Scott. The Alien Mythology and Universe is very unique. It gives me those Morbus Gravis Vibes. I just wished more was done with the Alien mythology. even HR Giger's art work showed more on this mythology then the films. I believe that certain art work was in Prometheus.
