Just when you think you've pinned the J.J. Abrams formula down, the director/producer pulls the rug out from under everyone again by dropping a trailer out of nowhere for a secret project that may or may not be a sequel to Cloverfield (though the way the title emphasizes the word "Cloverfield" at the end of the trailer I think may be a dead giveaway that there's some kid of connection).
The trailer for the film, currently titled 10 Cloverfield Lane, dropped on audiences as a surprise in front of Michael Bay’s 13 Hours.
All mysteries aside, here's what we know from the trailer: It may be post-apocalyptic. It takes place in a bunker. It looks intense. And it stars John Goodman.
Said Abrams in a statement to Collider: “The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.â€
The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who has previously been attached to now defunct projects like Y: The Last Man and others.
The original script, title “The Cellarâ€, was written by by Josh Campbell and Matt Steucken. Then Damien Chazelle did a rewrite.
Synopsis:
“Her captor, a doomsday prepper, tells her he saved her life and that there has been a terrible chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. She does not know what to believe and as tensions rise, she decides she must escape, regardless of the terrors that await outside.â€
The film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr..
10 Cloverfield Lane is set to hit theaters on March 11th 2016.
Recommended Release: Cloverfield

This plot line seems really familiar.
I'm calling on the power of Quiet Earth to help me out here- I just watched something in the last few months about a young woman who wakes up in her neighbor's fallout shelter. He tells her that there has been an attack and he only had time to save her. They get along all right for a while until she eventually finds a bunch of creepy pictures of herself that had been taken by the neighbor before the bomb. She decides that it's all a lie and conspires to overcome her captor and escape only to discover that there had been a bomb all along.
Any idea what that was? Seems like it may have been an episode from an anthology show ala 2nd generation Twilight Zone or something.
Any ideas?

I thought the same thing. The show is Metal Hurlant Chronicles, the episode is Shelter me.
