Marina Antunes [Celluloid 10.13.15] United Kingdom scifi thriller drama dystopic

Though general audiences won't have a chance to see Ben Wheatley's High-Rise for at least a few more months, the movie has been making the festival rounds the last few weeks and will continue to do so for a little while longer, allowing at least a few ardent film fans the chance to catch up with it.

My review is yet to come though I can let you in on a tiny secret: I didn't love it nearly as much as rochefort did, tough I did find it an interesting watch, in part because of the themes of the story, in part because of Wheatley's direction but mostly because of the central performances from Tom Hiddleston, Luke Evans and Sienna Miller among a few others who really step-up to the plate in Wheatley's tale of chaos coming to power.

We've yet to see a trailer for the movie but we have seen a still or a few from the adaptation and now we've got a first look at some video. Here, Hiddleston's Dr. Robert Laing is meeting Helen Wilder (Elisabeth Moss) for the first time and she's giving him a bit of a rundown of how the building works and, from afar, admiring Charlotte Melville (Miller), the woman who is at the centre of the building's eventual metaphorical collapse.
