Marina Antunes [Celluloid 02.05.15] cult thriller drama

If your daughter claims to have found god and to have had sexual relations with him, what do you do? If you're Claire's parents, you assume you're little girl has been brainwashed and convince one of the world's foremost experts on mind control to return her to her normal self. That's the set-up here except that in the case of Faults, the deprogramming takes on a weird and strangely humerous twist.

Written and directed by Riley Stearns and produced by the folks behind You're Next and The Guest, Faults stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as the cult member in need of deprogramming while the great Leland Orser steps in as the expert. Aside from this great pairing, the movie looks like an insane mix of comedy, horror and just plain weirdness. In short, it looks amazing; a strange, over-the-top version of Martha Marcy May Marlene (review).

Faults opens March 6.
