Marina Antunes [Celluloid 01.27.15] horror

It seems somehow appropriate that a few hours after the debut of our first teaser for Eli Roth's upcoming horror movie Knock Knock we get another, completely unrelated horror movie with the same name.

Written and directed by The Thornton Brothers and starring Chris Thornton, the short is the story of a man who awakes to a loud knocking sound and whose day gets progressively worse. He looks everywhere for the source of the knock, then starts hearing other voices before taking matters into his own hands.

Knock Knock isn't particularly sophisticated but it's an effective little horror movie and a great example of what can be accomplished with a little ingenuity and some talent. The Thornton's use sound to great effect to build tension and most of the sounds were gathered from an open source resource.
