Christopher Webster [Celluloid 05.08.14] post apocalyptic action thriller

Let's face it, as good as the last Planet of the Apes film was it was all set up for the real story, which starts here. In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, we get to see what looks to be the final clash between Caesar and his apes and what remains of humanity. Of course we all know it does not end well for us puny humans.

So, while I was lukewarm on the last film, I am pretty excited about this new one. And with Let Me In's Matt Reeves at the helm, it elevates the flim even more in my mind.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

Watch for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in theatres in July 2014.

This is one big budget Hollywood movie that I actually want to see. It looks to be some good PA action.
