quietearth [Celluloid 01.15.13] horror thriller

Until the abysmal Vanishing on 7th Street I thought Brad Anderson could do no wrong. Session 9 holds up, The Machinist is still a twisted indie classic and Tansiberrian is a Hitchcockian thrill-ride. Enter Anderson's new thriller from WWE studios and Tri-Star Picture, The Call starring Halle Berry, Abigail Breslin. Will it be enough to bring the director back into a our good graces?

When veteran 911 operator, Jordan (Halle Berry), takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl (Abigail Breslin) who has just been abducted, she realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl's life.

The film was written by Richard D'Ovidio.
