I was certain that for his feature debut Ayz Waraich would dive into genre fare (he certainly caught our attention with the trailers for the short film Divine River) but as it turns out, that is not to be the case.

Waraich's feature debut To Our Bright White Hearts is a tale of "anxiety, heartache, family, and the collisions between strangers." There's very little additional information about the film, Waraich and his team are keeping things under wraps until the first trailer is released, but we did manage to get our hands on a gorgeous teaser along with a few additional details on plot which follows a young man dealing with anxiety issues while his wife serves in a war overseas. We meet him at his worst, over the course of a couple of nights, when his life collides with several strangers, all dealing with their own personal heartaches.

It certainly sounds interesting but I must admit it was the brilliantly cut trailer which really impressed me. I can't wait to see more.

Put this one on your radar. To Our Bright White Hearts is currently being submitted to festivals and I expect we'll start seeing and hearing more about it this fall.
