Gust Van den Berghe has made two films (trailers below), both of which premiered at the last two Cannes. Part of a trilogy, his first was a re-imagination of the Three Wise Men with a cast entirely comprised of actors with down syndrome. His second, Blue Bird is about two African on the hunt for a mysterious bird. We'll be bringing you a review of that soon. Now, he's cpmpleting it with the devil.

Poor old Lupita is out of luck, she must take care of her two orphaned grandchildren, her husband pretends that he is lame, and the sun never shines on her side of the mountain - consequently her garden never grows. One day a mysterious man falls out of the sky, Lucifer. She takes care of him and heals his wounds. He allows her garden to grow, her husband to walk, and the sun to shine on her side of the mountain. But the sexton does not trust the man, and after the miraculous events he calls the “stranger” the devil - the evil that they must avoid.

Shooting is set for spring 2013 in Mexico with a late 2013 or early 2014 release.

We'll be bringing you more info when we have it.
