Christopher Webster [Celluloid 11.19.11] post apocalyptic scifi

Word is that Chris Gorak's (Right at Your Door) alien apocalypse epic, The Darkest Hour, premieres on Christmas Day. Let's hope the world is still around because I think this second trailer looks pretty slick. There's also a new featurette tucked under the seat, so take heed!

The Darkest Hour, starring Emile Hirsch, Rachael Taylor, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, and Joel Kinnamana, is a new film about five young people who find themselves stranded in Moscow, fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack. The 3D action-thriller highlights the classic beauty of Moscow alongside mind-blowing special effects from the minds of visionary filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Night Watch) and director Chris Gorak.

The film stars Emile Hirsch (“Into the Wild,” “The Girl Next Door”), Olivia Thirlby (“Juno,” “No Strings Attached”), Max Minghella (“The Social Network,” “Agora”) and Rachael Taylor (“Transformers,” “Shutter”). It is directed by Chris Gorak (“Right at Your Door”) and written by Jon Spaights (“Prometheus”).

“The Darkest Hour” will be released on December 25 later this year.
