Christopher Webster [Celluloid 10.14.11] post apocalyptic movie news scifi horror

The team behind the hit franchise Cold Prey is heading into the post-apocalypse with a movie called Escape (or Flukt in it's native lang.). The film deals with the Black Death in Norway. Escape has been in production since the beginning of September and is being reported to premiere September 2012.

Synopsis:
The film takes place in the year 1363. Black Death has killed half the population. Many travel from death and misery in search of a better life elsewhere. But the country is sparsely populated, and in the mountains, raging outlaw gangs and a life is worth little.

"Cold Prey showed that we are not inferior to American horror films. With Escape, we're creating a completely new and spectacular experience. With the stunning western scenery as a framework, we are now in the process of making an action movie that will surprise and excite a large Norwegian cinema audience" says producer Martin Sundland.

Director, director Roar Uthaug says "Escape should be a grand adventure that takes us back to a time that is little described in the Norwegian film. It should be an epic rollercoaster ride of a thriller."

With him on the team, he Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, newcomer Isabel Andreasen, Milla Olin (Angel) Tobias Santelmann (Kon-Tiki) Bjorn Moan (Insomnia), Martin Slaatto, Richard Forest (voted the strongest man in 2009 and 2010), Hans Jacob Sand, Kristian Espedal (former lead singer of Black Metal band Gorgoroth), Hallvard Holmen and Irene Reppen.

More as it comes PA fans.
