Spanish director Adrián GarcÃa Bogliano made Massacre, Tonight ("Masacre esta noche") back in 2009, but it never got distribution. Since then, he made another horror film called Cold Sweat which actually premiered at SXSW last weekend. So, what's happening with Massacre, Tonight? Will we ever see it?
The strange indie horror film was recently added to the 27th Annual Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival where it will play next to a few heavy hitters like Miike's 13 Assasins, A Horrible Way to Die, Fase 7, Hobo with a Shotgun, Super, Stake Land and many more.
Synopsis:
A young, down-on-his-luck filmmaker lands a job through an acquaintance. He’s to replace a cameraman who suddenly disappeared during a film production. On location he finds a porn actor and a dazed girl in addition to the rest of the crew. But who is that man wearing that strange mask? Our hero is shocked to find out that he landed on the set of a snuff film. How is he going to get out of this one?
From the moment the axe appears, Masacre esta Noche turns into a bloody black comedy. The writing and directing brothers Adrián and Ramiro Garcia Bogliano don’t focus on the sexual violence, but rather on what happens on the set of such a gruesome film. Turns out, it’s not all that different from the set of any cheap film production. The producer roars about going over budget, the director wallows in his own pretensions and the over-the-hill porn actor can’t stop gushing about his glory days. And besides being bloody and funny, Masacre esta Noche is also quite suspenseful
You can check out the trailer after the break.

The genesis of a lot of these movies is Spanish, but real horror fans right now go to renegade video.
