Maybe it was inevitable considering Frank Drarabont is The Walking Dead's show runner and the two have become close over the years following his acclaimed adaptions of The Mist, Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, but word is that Stephen King is currently in talks to write for the hit zombie TV show.
Cinematical reports that Frank Darabont and company are working hard at coming up with storylines for a larger second season story arc. Laurie Holden (Andrea) and Jon Bernthal (Shane) were part of a panel devoted to the show at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo this weekend, and Holden let the cat out of the bag concerning the crazy news regarding King.
According to Holden, the master of horror is in talks to write some upcoming episodes of the show. Details about what episode that might be haven't been determined, but like Cinematical posit: does it even really matter?

I read this and was surprised at the lack of comments for against or just plan snarky. I have to confess I’m a little burned out on the Zombie genre there is so little originality out there. Either Zombie flicks, slasher flicks, some of the Alien Invasion stuff looks promising. SK writing a few episodes may bring in the curious who never would have looked at a Zombie series even one as good as Walking Dead. We’ll see.

I can't wait to see what the King comes up with! Fantastic!

Oh Yay! Crappy washed up writer (who has not written anything that did not suck since Four past Midnight in 1990) will do his best to wreck a great show... Remember what he did for Maximum Overdrive, the biggest steaming pile of crap movie ever, which he wrote AND directed.
And hopefully he will give us his unsolicited political rhetoric also (I get to say that as I live in Maine and get treated to his ignorant left wing proselytizing quite a bit)

Leave Maximum Overdrive alone, or the truck will chase you.

Oh joy, the King Formula for a great show that became number one despite King's involvement. Is it moving to Syfy i.e., Imagine Dissapointment, as well?

Mark (10 years ago) Reply
It was a middling show, which never touched greatness. And now it's going to be a crappy show.
Also, compare Riget and Kingdom Hospital.
