Christopher Webster [Celluloid 03.02.11] movie trailer horror comedy



Joseph Khan was originally attached to Neuromancer, but after watching this trailer for his new horror/comedy Detention I must say I'm glad he's off the project and Vincenzo Natali has moved in. Khan's film is a Scream spoof ten years too late and a bad 80s homage rolled together into one big #fail.

On paper it sounds great and is said to be "in the vein of Scream with elements of Back to the Future (time travel is involved) and classic John Hughes teen films from the 80's." But I'm not really convinced by what I'm seeing here.

Synopsis:
The film follows a 17-year-old who is given detention on the night of her prom. Over the course of the night her friends are murdered by a fictional horror movie icon.

Detention stars Dane Cook, Josh Hutcherson, Shanley Caswell, Spencer Locke, Parker Bagley, Alison Woods, Walter Perez, and Evan Williams.

Im watching tv on saturday night and my husband tells me detention is on. I asked how can that be the movie detention by(Joseph Kahn)is not out yet. So there is a movie called detention its a horror suspense with david carradine, rachel sterling, zelda williams. What i love the most is the story!! A vengeful ghost terrorizes a group of teens traped in a high school WOW I CANT BELIVE HOW SIMILAR THIS MOVIE DETENTION IS TO JOSEPHS KAHNS DETENTION IM WONDERING DID JOSEPH KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER MOVIE AND HOW MUCH HIS MIMICS IT. THE ONLY THING GOOD ABOUT THE MOVIE IS THE CAST EVERYTHING FROM PRODUCTION ON DOWN WAS A COMPLETE DISaster nobody was organized wherte did they ever find that production crew?
