Dead Island is a new zombie game that takes place in Banoi, a tropical resort island full of mouth watering tourists. So mouth watering in fact, that now the almost all have completely fallen prey to a zombie outbreak, leaving only a handful immune -- ie, you the player.
Based on what we're seeing here, game company Techland is looking to create a more emotional zombie gaming experience in the hopes that we'll get more involved and get the pants scared off us.
Publisher Deep Silver stated that up to four players may drop in (and out) at any time, though soloing the entire game is still a viable option.
No specifics on a launch date yet, but Deep Silver and Techland expect to finish for a 2011 release, on Xbox 360, PC, and PS3.
The game's official site is under construction, but expect more to appear soon.

That looked awesome. About time there was some info on this game. I figured it was gonna be stuck in dev hell and never be made.

So glad that this game is finally getting made! I've been waiting for information on this game for almost three years and after seeing the trailer and the few images from the actual game, I'd say it was worth the wait. Looking forward to seeing more and damn was that an emotional trailer.

Wow... That was really something else. I don't think I've had a trailer/ad hit me so hard since that Seat Belt one from England. I look forward to this game greatly.

Sorry boys, gotta say that trailer is "THE BEST" Zombie film of 2011. Hands down! Nothing as original as that hitting celluloid in a long time. Simply masterful.

I first saw early footage of this game a couple of years ago. Even if the game sucks, this is hands down one of the best game trailers ever created.

Just a FMV cutscene,..I would hold off on a buy.
Looks like it doesn't/cant deliver that type of gameplay.
