Five days ago at Texas' famous BYOC event, QuakeCon, id Software released the first extended trailer for their much anticipated apocalyptic first person shooter, RAGE. That trailer has now made its way online and it's pretty wild I must say. Very different than the Fallout series, it takes itself a little less seriously in terms of game play and looks to features some straight-up first person mutant killing mayhem.
Using the company's new id Tech 5 engine, RAGE is set for a 2010 PC and console released in a partnership with Electronic Arts.
What little information that is available on the game's storyline indicates that it takes place in a post-apocalyptic world similar to that of movies such as Mad Max 2. Tim Willits revealed that the game is set in a near future following the impact of 99942 Apophis.
The first trailer is after the break. For more information you can visit the newly updated official site.
Our thanks to QE member planetreckless for passing along the trailer.

Much more excited for Borderlands.
I hate me some FPS but I may just have to pick up BL for the shear Mad Maxness of it!

Fallout with the Doom 3 Graphics and engine. I guess so. It looks a little rushed to me. ID jumping on the RPG bandwagon.

Fallout 3 and another kind of games style. Nothing new.

I'm still playing that game to find lines I've never heard, but the Italian localization has been done very badly, so 80% of the fun of doing that is lost! I'm really looking forward to RAGE, considering I'm also a Motorstorm fan!
