Marketsaw, the experts on all things 3D and, in particular, James Cameron's Avatar, have posted the first official pieces of concept art from the film that will also be included in the forthcoming book, "The Art of Avatar: James Cameron's Epic Adventure." From what I'm hearing, these two lavish pieces of art by Dylan Cole are but a fraction of the hundred or so pieces that will appear in the book.

Of course this is kind of big news because it's our first real look at the film's exotic planet, Pandora, where the film's major conflicts take place. It's also our first look at some of the technology we'll be seeing. The power-suit is some seriously cool mech (lets hope it translates on screen) and that bio-tech helicopter is quite original. I think the film will end up being an interesting blend of utilitarian and bio-mechanical production designs.

this is probably the only american film i'm truly psyched about. probably the only american film i've been truly psyched about for nearly a decade! cameron is a genius!

I can't believe this is all we have to work from so far lol. As said previous, I am also hyped up for this. I hope Cameron still has the magic!

Hard to judge a film by some concept art, that's for sure. Heck, sometimes you can get psyched watching the finished trailers and discover the film totally sucks!

Cameron has a good track record, but hasn't been in the director's chair for the big screen in a few years.
