Christopher Webster [Celluloid 05.27.09] movie trailer news action drama



Somehow, somewhere, Collider got their hands on the unofficial trailer for Werner Herzog's remake (sequel?) of Abel Ferrara’s original film of the same name. In case you forgot, this version of Bad Leiutenant stars Nic Cage who I can only take so much of these days. I didn't mind him so much in Knowing, but was secretly hoping someone would put him out of his misery (and mine) when I watched Bangkok Dangerous.

Of course, with Herzog at the helm, this could be a worthy effort. If anything, the aging director has been consistent in his recent films. I personally LOVED Rescue Dawn so I'll be keeping an eye out for this one.

this is totally unnecessary. even if it's by herzog. no remake/sequel will ever be able to compete with abel's original. btw: cage, mendes & xzibit - are you kidding me?

what an awful trailer.
looks like pure chaos, and not in a good way.
modern hollywood could never produce anything like the original.
