Wow, this week we have a veritable cornucopia of genre film dropping. First off is the [REC] remake Quarantine which I personally enjoyed more than the original. I mean, that camera bashing the head in scene? Awesome! Then we have the (hopefully not) last in the Feast trifecta, Feast 3: The Happy Finish which is hands down a great series, see it. Next we have the long awaited Midnight Meat Train (review here) adapted from Clive Barker's story of the same name, and while this may have had a sordid history in getting a release, it's still worth watching. Then we have the surprisingly good (but badly titled) Alien Raiders which we all enjoyed (review here). Then we have Screamers 2: The Hunting which I know agentorange is looking forward too. Last but not least is the f***ed up genre favorite Ex Drummer out of Belgium which you should really check out.

Television reporter Angela Vidal and her cameraman are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside. When the quarantine is finally lifted, the only evidence of what took place is the news crew’s videotape.

This is so frickin weird.
I'm wanting to see Alien Raiders and it reminded me of a movie I'd seen called Altered, that I knew was written by Eduardo Sanchez one of the cowriters of Blair Witch Project. So I go to Blair Witch IMDB and what do I find? Alien Raiders is produced by Dan Myrick the other writer of Blair Witch??!
So these guys are both into Ailen films I guess.
