Christopher Webster [Celluloid 01.28.09] post apocalyptic movie news

Uh, I just noticed that both quietearth and I used the word "mad" in the title of posts today. Not intentional but I ain't taking it back.

Anyway, our favorite nerds over at io9 found this crazy intense piece of concept art created by an artist and production designer named Daniel LuVisi. It's called "The Battle of Yonkers" and apparently it was an unsolicited digital piece he created to help his chances of getting on board Marc Forster's World War Z production team. Did it work? He's not saying, but if the positions ain't filled these guys would be idjits not to hire him. The detail is simply incredible. In his own words, LuVisi states:

"This was one of the most difficult images I've ever done. Incredibly challenging to the point where I wanted to quit. But through thick and thin I forced myself to complete it.

We've got epic zombie carnage for you after the break.
