Christopher Webster [Cathode Ray Mission 01.16.09] Tuvalu post apocalyptic news

With Jericho's first season currently being re-aired Sunday nights on teeny-bopper network The CW, show creator John Turteltaub is more than hopeful that a movie is imminent. In fact he's so hopeful that he's still got his company working overtime on a large scale feature project that would include the entire cast. In a recent interview with iF Magazine, Turteltaub had this to say:

"We’re developing a feature for Jericho... It would not require you to have seen the TV show, but it gets into life after an event like this on a national scale. It would be the bigger, full on American version of what’s going on beyond the town in Jericho."

"A repeat of Jericho on CW actually has more viewers than an episode of MAD MEN, you realize the difference between cable and broadcast, you realize the difference between what the press is watching vs. what America is watching. And I bring up MAD MEN, because it’s a brilliant show. But it’s still fun to see the show won’t die."

Taking shots at Mad Men? Turteltaub must be confident. If the post apocalyptic series does come back it'll surely take first prize as the show that wouldn't die. So what do you think? Would you like to see Jericho back or should it quickly die in the fallout?

Fantastic show, too bad the second season was 1) rushed, 2) had a ridiculous wrap up of the plot (some guy who hates the fictional version of Halliburton did it, huh--wha??), and 3) was overall ridiculous. But the basic premise is still cool, and the first season rocked the house. Hopefully they'll do a good job with a movie.
