Christopher Webster [Celluloid 10.16.08] post apocalyptic movie news

According to a very sad announcement in The Hollywood Reporter today, it sounds like Weinstein Co. will be pushing back the release of the most anticipated PA film of the year until to, at least December, maybe even 2009. Why would they do such a thing? Well it sounds like there are a couple of reasons. Weinstein has decided to move ahead with a December release of The Reader which will mean that it'll suck up a lot of marketing dollars needed for The Road. But also, and this comes directly from the article; "The Road is in post and decidedly not done, those familiar with the project said."

So people, it's looking like your dreams of stuffing yourself with Turkey and watching people starve in a PA landscape this holiday are not going to come to fruition. Of course, we'll continue to keep you posted on the status of The Road.
