Dawn of the Dead, George A. Romero's seminal 1978 satirical horror masterpiece has seen it's fair share of cuts, rip-offs and a relatively ill-advised remake too, but now it's tipped for a sequel. Producer Richard Rubinstein is planning to take directing duties and the scoop goes that actor Tony Todd (Candyman, Jason X) is in talks to star. This follows Rubenstein's recent announcment that a 3D version of the origional Dawn will be released in cinemas in the near future. No word so far on the plot but exciting news nonetheless. After the disastrous Day of the Dead 2: Contagium and equally bad Day of the Dead remake this may be a doomed project, but with Rubenstein (who produced Dawn of the Dead '78) it might just work out. Ken Foree (who played Peter Washington in the original Dawn of the Dead) had been thought to be in talks before Todd was tipped for a role. Zombie fans will remember Tony Todd as Ben in Tom Savini's remake of Night of the Living Dead (1990) which also starred stunt actress and Babylon 5 veteran Patricia Tallman and was written by Romero himself.

Hey yall this movie was bad ass when do you think you will make a part-2 because i think you should because we really don't know what happened to the rest of the crew at the end of the movie so please do it for the fans.

There hasn't been a good zombie movie since the remake of DOTD, I mean really good. What is taking so long, it's been like 4 years already.

Lol the only good movie after the Down of the Dead was Shawn of the Dead or smth like that. Well it was mostly funny but still a good movie. But hell yea other scary movies sucked big time even Resident Evil 3 didn't do so good. We want Dawn of the Dead 2 but that's only 4 of us we need to create a bigger community and spread the word. :D
