Christopher Webster [Celluloid 01.21.08] movie trailer horror

I'm not sure how something that looks this good was able to slip through the cracks here at Quiet Earth but thanks to QE regular soma, who posted about it in the forums, we are now finally privy to Cthulhu, a great looking debut film from Daniel Gildark and Grant Cogswell.

A hit at quite a few alternative international film festivals throughout 2007, Cthulhu takes an uncompromising look at our possible destruction through the twisted visions of H.P. Lovecraft. Basically it's one of those films that's uncompromising about being completely impossible to classify, which might explain why we're all so keen on seeing it around here.

Synopsis: "A Seattle history professor, drawn back to his estranged family on the Oregon coast to execute his late mother's estate, is reacquainted with his best friend from childhood, with whom he has a long-awaited tryst. Caught in an accelerating series of events, he discovers aspects of his father's New Age cult which take on a dangerous and apocalyptic significance."
