Overview:
"And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart... And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth... And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heavens; and they were destroyed from the earth... And Noah only remained alive.... Genesis 6"



Set against the backdrop of the ocean, this is the beginning of our movie. I should mention that they took liberty with Genesis 6 as this is not actual verse. In the Bible, Noah, his wife, his sons, and his sons wives live. Noah is in an inflatable raft, and lands on an island which looks like it was former a former chinese stronghold. After searching around, he finds himself alone, the last man on earth. Noah is a career army man, having done 30 years, so he seems used to the foreign way of life contained on the island.



The Story:
Noah quickly makes himself at home on the island, taking inventory, patrolling, and setting himself up. In the beginning all is silence, except for the background noise of nature and daily life. Although, shortly, Noah starts having auditory hallucinations and creates an imaginary friend named Friday. They become best of friends, and the lofty voice always set against the background of Noah is quite eery. Things only get worse from here.



The Rating:
Quote of the movie: "I never paid a plug nickle for a dame!" As you can probably guess, there is alot of Biblical reference in the movie, and at times you wonder if Noah is now god. While being a generally good movie, this is probably better situated for interpretation in film school. The beginning is interesting but the auditory stuff gets a bit tedious toward the end. 7 dames out of 10.

Yeah, I watched it just last month and was hoping someone of flesh and blood was going to appear. I could imagine if i were left alone on an island and knowing that there was no one even left to rescue you or even goto for the fact. That things mentally would deteriate. The ending was i thought the most depressing part when the camara zoomed onto the badge.

Oh, i'm sorry but, i didn't say what the badge was. Ok i'll stay quiet hence forth on further movies. It would be nice sometime to discuss the movies we've seen but, I guess this forum isn't the proper place.
