Disney unveiled the first trailer for James Cameron’s long-awaited Avatar sequel and also unveiled the official title along with it!

The film is now known as Avatar: The Way of Water. It will release internationally as of December 14 and comes to North America on December 16!

Wow, hard to believe this is finally happening.

Producer Jon Landau came in from New Zealand to make the Disney presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

People were asked to wear speacial 3D glasses and the responses on Twitter are all pretty much positive.

Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) lives with his newfound family formed on the planet of Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and the army of the Na’vi race to protect their planet.

The trailer will run exclusively in cinemas with Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse pf Madness, which rolls out next week — beginning May 4 internationally and May 6 domestically. That drew applause in the room. The Avatar 2 trailer will then go online a week later.

What was once jaw-dropping in SFX, is now commonplace. I suspect Avatar 2 swims with dolphins will have the same reaction as the first. Pretty but shallow.

The Abyss was a masterpiece.
I still think the old school way of making movies is better than spending 10 years making a movie that looks like a video game. 10 years is way too long to make a movie, in 10 years Cameron could have made 3 or 4 movies to keep us entertained.
