After he's done with his big-budget blockbuster Dune adaptation, Denis Villeneuve will direct a DUNE TV pilot for Warner Bros. from a script by John Spaihts (Prometheus, Passengers).

Titled Dune: The Sisterhood, the show will be set in the same universe as the film, and focus on a mysterious order of women.

The show is set to help launch an all new streaming service the company wants to get out there and Villeneuve and Spaihts will executive produce alongside Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert for the Frank Herbert estate. Kevin J. Anderson will co-produce. Spaihts co-wrote the screenplay alongside Villeneuve.

The film version of Dune is currently shooting and it stars Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa, Zendaya, Oscar Isaac and David Dastmalchian.

It is scheduled to premiere Nov. 20, 2020.
