One of the most interesting looking and sounding titles from last year's Fantastic Fest was Liam Gavin's A Dark Song (review) which our very own Rochefort praised as "distinct and refreshing."

Written and directed by Gavin, the movie stars Catherine Walker as Sophia, as a young woman who teams up with an occultist, played by Sightseers' Steve Oram, who perform a ritual which opens a gateway between this world and the next.

It's a pretty mystifying write-up but everything on the project seems to be pretty wishy washy on the plot and I'm more than OK with this simple description which, along with the review from last year, has me fully sold on the movie.

A Dark Song is scheduled to open in the UK in the spring followed by a home video release in the summer and while IFC Midnight picked up North American rights for the movie, they have made no announcements about release plans for the US.

The newly minted trailer below has been released for the movie's upcoming UK release.
