Christopher Webster [Celluloid 02.18.16] China cyberpunk scifi

A French designer and filmmaker working in China is bound to have an interesting visual style and, while we don't know much about Matthieu Tondeur or his new short film Sentient at this point, this first look at the trailer leaves us wanting to see the entire thing soon.

The film is about an A.I. that is smart enough to hide its sentience, shockingly an idea that hasn't been fully explored. Arguably Ex Machina sort of covers this territory though it's not super explicit.

Synopsis:
Having secretly achieved sentience, an A.I. attempts to purposefully fail its Turing test.

We'll keep our eye on this one and let you know when the full short drops.

Recommended Release: Ex Machina (Mondo Steelbook)
