Marina Antunes [Celluloid 05.08.14] Republic of Korea post apocalyptic scifi action

It seems completely ridiculous to me that we’re still anticipating the release of Snowpiercer when so much of the world has already seen the movie. Now I know how our friends around the world feel when they have to wait weeks if not months for North American releases to finally make their way to the local markets.

But yes, Snowpiercer is still a thing that is coming to North America and in celebration of the release, there’s a new blood filled red band trailer for Bong Joon-ho's scifi goodness and it’s a thing of beauty. It features the now familiar voiceover of Tilda Swinton with some nifty visuals.

Snowpiercer opens June 27.

The bad thing about releasing it this way is that a large portion of the potential audience has probably already seen the film for free. Nothing is regional anymore.

Saw this a year ago in Hong Kong and it is seriously rubbish. If it wasn't for the fact I was blocked in by a number of people on my row, I would have walked out. Don't pay to see it.

excited? you can't be serious!i begin to think that this kind of "excitement" has monetary reasons. this movie is one of the most disappointing sf-movies i've ever seen. it's crap. there's neither a deeper meaning nor anything else hidden within the "story" that is of interest. it is plain bs.

We're not being paid by anyone to hype Snowpiercer, so relax. We're excited to see the movie because it looks amazing and it is based on a well respected French graphic novel. Also we love the post apocalyptic genre.

my words weren't meant/spoken in an angry manner. "the stand" from stephen king is also a well respected novel and the first movie was a total desaster. i just can't get why so many people are so excited about this movie. it's average at best. well... not everyone likes everything. so i guess i'll just move on. no offense.

It's not your opinion of the film I take offense to. It's your accusation that our genuine excitement is due to potential monetary gain. Not cool.

I thought it was great...man, some folks must be serving fries and writing screenplays...it was a well put together production, had a story line and Dolph Lundgren wasn't in it...

I just got done watching this flick on a bootleg website and I thought it was fantastic. Keep my attention the entire time, great story, solid scenes of a PA world, etc. I give it a good 8/10

Just watched on VOD and as the story did not really seem interesting to me I should have stayed away. I do like PA and Evans tho so I gave it a chance. Did not enjoy it at all. It looked good but the dialog, story, whole concept just fell extremely flat for me. Would not recommend.
