I love the execution and concept of K-Michel Parandi's satirical science fiction short, From the Future With Love. I'm tempted to say it's like Dredd meets Starship Troopers, except it doesn't push the comedic moments quite as far as all that. Maybe it's more Robocop and OCP without the cyborgs.

At any rate, the film imagines a world where you have to buy a protection policy that determines the level of police support you can get. It's a smart idea, ripe for feature treatment (I'm available, Parandi!).

The short is produced by James Lawler Productions who have another short on the way called Eden 2045. We'll keep an eye on that one for sure.

Parandi is a writer/director to look out for. I really hate it he hasn't been discovered by the big shots yet that can fund his futuristic ideas and concepts to bring to the screens. He's way more of a futurist then a Cameron and Villeneuve together. Give him a chance!
