Yes, you read that right, the Terminator is going soft. How? With a PG-13 rating courtesy of the new right-holders to the franchise, Halcyon. They say that not only has the PG-13 rating "increased in intensity" but this will allow more licensing deals for toys and figurines. Halcyon has also spun off a division to make a game to go along with the flick. From the info currently available, the film will be set in 2029 with Christian Bale playing John Connor who is trying to save humanity from Skynet. I don't see how it's possible to make a good post apocalyptic film with all the mayhem, destruction, and killing it will entail into a teeny-bopper flick, and furthermore I think this is a huge F U to all the fans of the series out there, like me. I hope this is a joke, because I don't want to see a family drama about John Connor and his wife and kids, this ain't Lifetime!

well, by a ratings standard terminator already went way soft by going on network tv. but i agree, the encroachment of the pg-13 rating on filmmaking is disappointing. that's another reason why the success of '300' was cool - it proved R rated films can still do big box office.
